Nana Boakye attended the University of Ghana, School of law where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2017. He is currently a student at the Ghana School of Law. He also attended the Anglophone Africa Regional Extractive Industries Knowledge Hub Summer School 2018 (OIL, GAS AND MINING GOVERNANCE) organised by Natural Resource Governance Institute from 27th August – 7th September 2018.
Prior to his internship at Sory @ Law, Nana Boakye worked as a Legal Research Team (LRT) member for the African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) from December 2016 – December 2017. The focus of work as a LRT member was to evaluate and analyse the mining laws of African Countries and to upload and update the AMLA database with the current mining laws of various African countries and to develop the website’s Taxonomy.
Also, he served as an intern and research assistant at Ab&M Legal Consult (June 2016 – September 2016). As an intern he prepared legal submissions and processes to be filed at Court.
Before then, he had served as a research assistant for Justices Gyaesayor and Welbourne JJA. of the Court of Appeal (The Superior Court of Judicature – Accra) from June 2015 to August 2015. Here he was tasked to research and provide written opinion and authorities for the judgments of the Court of Appeal.
During his undergraduate study at the University of Ghana, he was a regular panellist on the Human Right segment of the Show intituled “IN THE NAME OF THE LAW”, and contributed to the discourse which was focused on Human Rights in Ghana.
He is currently the Electoral Commissioner (GREENHILL CAMPUS) of the Ghana School of Law.
